The Science Behind the Balance

Behind (and beneath) every one of our designs is a complex technical plan that ensures the balance of art, science and nature. It all starts with an analysis of existing site conditions including site context, views, sun and shadow patterns, topography, soil composition and plantings. Design concepts are formulated and refined, incorporating the technical requirements for implementation, such as grading, erosion control, mechanical and electrical systems, utilities structures, storm water management and filtration systems. These technical aspects of the landscape construction project, although invisible in the completed project, are critical to its success.
